A Weed is a Beautiful Design

Hi,
I took this photograph of a dandelion (at least I think it's a Dandelion)and on uploading it and looking closer I was amazed to see the design in the centre of the Flower, it has little squirly tenticles, (can't think of the correct name for them!?!) so I thought I would post a close up to show you.
this print is available for sale, contact me for details, I can put it on etsy also if you are interested.

New Years Resolutions
Hello,
I hope everyone is having a great start to the New Year.
2009 is the time to shine
I think goals are a good idea, they help one to work towards something, and when the goal has been achieved it's nice to celebrate it. I think it's a good idea to write them down and what better place to write them than in an online blog (no chance of losing them) and one can come back at the end of the year and see how many goals were acheived.
here are a few of mine
1)Move out of where I'm living into another town.
2)Cut out chocolate and too much sugar as it's made me ill
3)Invest more of my time into encouraging others
4)Put into place my idea for fundraising for a specific charity I want to support
5)Get fit and dance more
6)Write at least 3 more songs
7)Put my jewellery and Art into more shops
Another way of explaining goals could be new years resolutions, has anyone made any?

Oscar the Miniature Pinscher

Hey does anyone have Miniature Pinshers?
Introducing Oscar
our dog is soo funny sometimes. He gets really excited. there is a frosted glass door to the living room, and when it's shut and he wants to come in he'll jump really high about a meter!! and he's only dinky... so one sees this vision of a Min Pin springing up and down. And then when the door is open he runs full throttle like the speed of light and jumps straight onto the sofa..

Yay my ACEO from Anitra of cuteworld arrived today

You know how you can look at a painting, piece of artwork and it can appeal to a certain thing deep inside you, well that’s just what I felt like when I looked at Anitras Aceo, it reminded me of a part of myself, the part that is always taking off, the free spirit, the part that likes to be outside the part that loves the journey, but also the part that is fearful of staying behind that door for too long and settling down……the part that wants to run away.
Anyway I liked it so much I purchased it, it arrived today, I didn't open the envelope straight away, I wanted to save it (you know like we used to when we were kids, save the best to last...or rather save the best so that when siblings had eaten or opened all theirs you can pull out yours and say ne ne ne nee neee...look what i've got and you're not having any...or maybe that was just me) anyway I broke from schedule and made myself a nice cup of hot lemon ( boring you may think but I can't drink tea or coffee) so anyway where was I ...oh yeah.. hot lemon.. opened my mail from Anitra, and saw my beautiful Aceo card and some pleasant surprises. I can see that it was lovingly created and even an artwork in itself painted on the back! Thank you so much Anitra and also thank you for the freebies :)

Sunny Days
Another gorgeous sunny day today, yesterday was also sunny; a friend and I took off to the beach it was great! relaxing on the sand, I went in for a swim in the sea it was freezing to start with, but I stayed in making my body get used to the temperature and after a while dived in, it was beautiful I love swimming in the ocean, you just can't beat it.. a swiming pool is not the same. I aso love deep sea snorkling it's like exploring a different world :)

River
This is a giclee print of my artwork in a frame you can see the artwork for sale here in my shop:http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=11382606
The title of it is River
and here is one of my poems about a river, a river that never stops running...
The River
The River wept as she ran,
She threw herself on varied rocks,
And kept on running despite the knocks,
Onward rushing through valleys deep,
Emotion echoing from transient feet,
Her journey softened along the way,
As she came upon the little bay,
Surrendering to its warm embrace,
Did dry the tears upon her face.
The River wept as she ran.

Well I have been feeling a little stressed recently, don't lie Alison...well I've been feeling a lot stressed actually.
and I remembered a copy a Japanese rendition of psalm 23, a friend gave it to me a while ago, reading it brings me back to a place of peace.
this is the copy:
and I remembered a copy a Japanese rendition of psalm 23, a friend gave it to me a while ago, reading it brings me back to a place of peace.
this is the copy:
The Lord is my Pace-setter, I shall not rush;
He makes me stop and rest for quiet intervals,
He provides me with images of stillness, which restore my serenity,
He leads me in the ways of efficiency through calmness of mind,
And His guidance is peace.
Even though I have a great many things to accomplish each day,
I will not fret, for His prescence is here, His timelessness,
His all-importance, will keep me in balance,
He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of my activity,
By anointing my mind with His oils of tranquility.
My cup of joyous energy overflows,
Surely harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruits of my hours,
For I shall walk in the pace of my Lord and dwell in His house for ever.

Well I haven't posted in my blog for ages,
Life has been really busy and I didn't have internet access for a while, I've got it back now, although I mustn't stay on it for as long as I used to... The other day I was looking at the screen for so long I started to feel physicaly sick.. yuk.
A couple of months back a friend and I went looking around all the department stores, trying on clothes and hats etc. having a bit of a giggle and getting passers by to take photos of us.
I took this photo in one of the stores I pointed the camera straight at a mirror and shot, I kind of like the composition, I have digitaly enhanced it with one of my favourite free image manipulation programmes.. 'The Gimp'
would anyone buy this image as an ACEO? I wonder

Ride the Wind Creative Modern Media print

Some New work a digital manipulation
it's lovely and sunny in the UK...funny how the weather has seemed to change from winter to summer overnight! not complaining though, everyone is smiling!
This Image also incorperates my creative writing, I love creating with words as well as pictures
and here you have both.
The words read as follows:
It was a small breeze to start with, softly calling me with hushed whispers,
I knew I had to follow, and with my response the breeze grew,
It grew into a wind, I ran with it and danced, I played with it and laughed,
I loved it and gained

I looked over and saw the top of a ladder, There are no net curtains at the window...yikes.. it was the Window Cleaner...I jumped out of bed as quick as a flash...and went and hid on the landing, until he left...

The River

An old Family Photograph,
Today I feel a bit weird kind of out of kilter, had a late night last night, I thought I would also post a poem I wrote a few years back:

She threw herself on varied rocks,
And kept on running despite the knocks,
Onward rushing through valleys deep,
Emotion echoing from transient feet,
Her journey softened along the way,

Back on Track
I am kind of at a crossroads in my life at the moment, something has ended and I feel kind of sad but at the same time I feel at peace because I know that it’s right, and I know I’m now back on track again and headed in the right direction.
A friend had a picture for me and it was that I had been heading along a path, a country lane lined with beautiful trees, and lots of amazing Autumn coloured leaves strewn across it, Stopping to look at all the leaves I had become mesmerised by them, so intrigued and curious was I, that I had now made the leaves my focus instead of the journey, I had stopped walking and come to a standstill, no longer moving because I was transfixed and distracted.
But now once again my eyes are lifted up, my focus no longer on the leaves but on the hope of an exciting journey a journey where I will see beauty but hopefully not become enmeshed again by that which is temporal.….

Please Hear What I'm not Saying
I'v been de-cluttering my computer today and came across this poem I copied from the internet once:
Please Hear What I'm Not Saying
Don't be fooled by me.
Don't be fooled by the face I wear
for I wear a mask, a thousand masks,
masks that I'm afraid to take off,
and none of them is me.
Pretending is an art that's second nature with me,
but don't be fooled,
for God's sake don't be fooled.
I give you the impression that I'm secure,
that all is sunny and unruffled with me, within as well
as without,
that confidence is my name and coolness my game,
that the water's calm and I'm in command
and that I need no one,
but don't believe me.
My surface may seem smooth but my surface is my mask,
ever-varying and ever-concealing.
Beneath lies no complacence.
Beneath lies confusion, and fear, and aloneness.
But I hide this. I don't want anybody to know it.
I panic at the thought of my weakness exposed.
That's why I frantically create a mask to hide behind,
a nonchalant sophisticated facade,
to help me pretend,
to shield me from the glance that knows.
But such a glance is precisely my salvation, my only hope,
and I know it.
That is, if it's followed by acceptance,
if it's followed by love.
It's the only thing that can liberate me from myself,
from my own self-built prison walls,
from the barriers I so painstakingly erect.
It's the only thing that will assure me
of what I can't assure myself,
that I'm really worth something.
But I don't tell you this. I don't dare to, I'm afraid to.
I'm afraid your glance will not be followed by acceptance,
will not be followed by love.
I'm afraid you'll think less of me,
that you'll laugh, and your laugh would kill me.
I'm afraid that deep-down I'm nothing
and that you will see this and reject me.
So I play my game, my desperate pretending game,
with a facade of assurance without
and a trembling child within.
So begins the glittering but empty parade of masks,
and my life becomes a front.
I tell you everything that's really nothing,
and nothing of what's everything,
of what's crying within me.
So when I'm going through my routine
do not be fooled by what I'm saying.
Please listen carefully and try to hear what I'm not saying,
what I'd like to be able to say,
what for survival I need to say,
but what I can't say.
I don't like hiding.
I don't like playing superficial phony games.
I want to stop playing them.
I want to be genuine and spontaneous and me
but you've got to help me.
You've got to hold out your hand
even when that's the last thing I seem to want.
Only you can wipe away from my eyes
the blank stare of the breathing dead.
Only you can call me into aliveness.
Each time you're kind, and gentle, and encouraging,
each time you try to understand because you really care,
my heart begins to grow wings--
very small wings,
very feeble wings,
but wings!
With your power to touch me into feeling
you can breathe life into me.
I want you to know that.
I want you to know how important you are to me,
how you can be a creator--an honest-to-God creator--
of the person that is me
if you choose to.
You alone can break down the wall behind which I tremble,
you alone can remove my mask,
you alone can release me from my shadow-world of panic,
from my lonely prison,
if you choose to.
Please choose to.
Do not pass me by.
It will not be easy for you.
A long conviction of worthlessness builds strong walls.
The nearer you approach to me
the blinder I may strike back.
It's irrational, but despite what the books say about man
often I am irrational.
I fight against the very thing I cry out for.
But I am told that love is stronger than strong walls
and in this lies my hope.
Please try to beat down those walls
with firm hands but with gentle hands
for a child is very sensitive.
Who am I, you may wonder?
I am someone you know very well.
For I am every man you meet
and I am every woman you meet.

that I'm really worth something.

New Year beginning, Old years past....

teehee...it's the beginning of the New Year and I thought I would post a weird photo (taken 3 years ago) of me atttempting to curl my eyelashes....
Anyone got any New Years Resolutions?
I thought one of mine would be to do more Random Acts of Kindness....
I hadn't really thought about making a New Years Resolution until someone asked me last night, and I remember reading a little book called random acts of kindness, where peeps would go around doing things for others i.e paying for the car parking ticket for the person in the car behind, I thought one could be...when in the supermarket next buy a bar of chocolate with ones shopping and then as you pack it all up and on leaving give the bar of chocolate to the person behind you in the que.....
I think I may make a blog about this and see if others want to participate by posting their random acts of kindness...
o.k Ive made the new blog, here it is:

A Practice Treasury for Etsy

Their are some amazing handmade artworks on Etsy.com, I thought I would make a practice Treasury including some of the lovely things I've seen.
Dog Show

I went to a Dog Show on Saturday and these are a couple of Photos I took. There were some really cute looking dogs there. The two Pugs got really excitable when I was taking a photo of a dog next to them, it was as though they were saying 'hey, what about us we want our photos taking as well!'
The other Dog was really beautiful and reminded me of a Wolf, I was told what breed it was but I can't remember now. Anybody know?

Fiery Sun and Raging Tempest Acrylic Paintings

These two Paintings Studies were completed yesterday, and are currently on Exhibition at the Exmouth Gallery in Devon along with some other works of mine, the exhibition runs until the 10th January.
I am quite pleased I've managed to get these paintings done as i've had painters block for sometime now, I had taken some time out from painting and have been finding it a bit of a struggle to get back into, anyway hopefully that will stop now.

Do I look Young in this Garage?
I was feeling quite chuffed when I took my car into the garage to get some work done on it and the guy behind the counter kept calling me young lady :) 'certainly young lady, yes young lady', etc....and he looked younger than I am! so I thought maybe I look reeeeeaaally young!!.......
until an old man of about 80 walked in and the guy behind the counter said
'yes young man, how can I help you?'
